statement of intent

My magazine is aimed at 11-13 year old children, mainly girls, though a few boys may be interested in the magazine as it is more about dog training than pictures of puppies and kittens. It is going to be called DOG TALK as the magazine will be based upon dogs, training them and ways to engage with your dog. I will be choosing a blue harness for my dog to wear as blue has connotations of calmness, peace, kindness and love. It also shows that he is a boy and stands out against his coat. I will be choosing a large font that is large and eye-catching. This would interest a 10-13 year old as they would be attracted to the bright colour and large letters on the front page. I will use a long shot on the front cover as it would show his personality while he is in the field and close ups or medium shots in the double page spread as they would be easier to see while he is doing the tricks. This would interest my target audience because they would have a variety of camera shots to see how to trai...

Cover lines: 1. Sports both you and your dog can enjoy: agility, heelwork to music, flyball and more 2. 3  tricks you can train your dog to do: spin, rebound and play dead 3. Puzzles you can make to challenge your pet’s brain. 4. How to choose the right puppy for you and your family 3 tricks you can train your dog to do 1. Spin/twist Have a smelly treat or your dog’s favourite toy in your hand. Lure them in a circle by moving your hand in a large enough circle that they follow the reward without just moving their head. Once they understand that they have to move their whole body in a circle to get a treat or toy, start adding a word into the behaviour. Start phasing your hand out until your dog understands to go in a circle when they hear the command. Only lure in 1 direction until your dog has mastered spinning in that direction, then re-train with the other direction. This could take time and your dog may get confused but keep going and one day they’ll und...

TASK 2 - Write an introduction to the task that combines the learning objectives into a short paragraph. In this task I will be preparing and creating sketches that should mirror what I want to do with my production. I believe sketching is important because the feedback gives me an idea of how i can make the magazine appeal to as many people as possible. I can also use it to plan how my magazine would look while i'm making it. --------------------------------- TASK 3 - PLANNING PART 1 If you're doing the Magazine and Website task: Produce up to 3 different sketches of each of the pages you need to create.  These sketches should show a development journey from initial ideas to a final one.
